Luminous accents for powerful brand appearances

Stand out when it counts: With our phosphorescent (fluorescent) printing, logos, lettering, and custom designs take on a special effect. The special ink used is charged by daylight or artificial light and then releases the stored energy in the form of visible light. This creates eye-catching promotional items with a unique afterglow effect that really stand out, especially at events or in specific lighting conditions.

This special printing technique is available for all of our screen-printable plastic lighters, opening up additional possibilities for customizing your advertising space.

What is phosphorescent printing?

Phosphorescent printing uses a special phosphorescent ink. The active ingredients in the ink are activated by artificial or natural light and store energy in the process.

When it gets dark, this stored energy is gradually re-emitted as visible light. The longer and more intense the previous exposure to light, the greater the light output can be—until the maximum charge is reached.

This allows logos, lettering, or custom designs to be specifically highlighted and adds a special visual effect to classic promotional items.

Fluorescent or phosphorescent—what’s the difference?

Both terms are often associated with special lighting effects, but they describe different mechanisms.

Fluorescent inks glow primarily when exposed to UV or black light. Phosphorescent inks, on the other hand, store a portion of the light energy they absorb and then release it later.

The afterglow printing we use is a phosphorescent ink system: The ink is charged by light and continues to glow even in the dark.

How does the glow effect work?

The special color pigments react to incident light and store energy in the process. As soon as the light source is removed or the product is placed in a darker environment, the stored energy is gradually released as visible light.

The charging behavior, brightness, and afterglow duration may vary depending on the color variant used.

This unique glow-in-the-dark effect is ideal for, for example:

  • Events and gatherings
  • Promotions and brand campaigns
  • Trade shows and presentations
  • Clubs, bars, and restaurants
  • Unique promotional items

Available for our plastic lighters

The special printing process can be applied to all of our screen-printable plastic lighters. This allows you to combine this unique printing technique with various lighter models and designs.

Whether it’s a company logo, a promotional design, or custom lettering—fluorescent printing offers an additional way to customize a lighter to match a specific brand or campaign.

More Attention for Your Brand

Visibility and brand recognition play a particularly important role when it comes to promotional items. Glow-in-the-dark printing combines the classic function of a printed lighter with a unique visual effect.

After being exposed to light, the printed design begins to glow in the dark. This transforms an everyday promotional item into an eye-catching brand ambassador that draws attention specifically to the logo, lettering, or design.

This creates an additional visual appeal, especially at events, promotions, or in environments with changing lighting conditions.

Conclusion

Phosphorescent afterglow printing is an effective way to highlight advertising messages. The special ink is charged by daylight or artificial light and then releases the stored energy as visible light in the dark.

This creates a unique afterglow effect that is ideal for promotions, events, trade shows, and distinctive brand presentations.

Whether it’s a company logo, lettering, or a custom design—afterglow printing offers a unique way to enhance classic promotional items with an additional visual effect.
